Decorate with neon
The neon light trend is popping up all over Instagram lately. Although the 1980's trend died out for a period, developments in new technologies and materials have made neon lights safe and affordable.
We can't get enough of them!
Done well, neon lights read like an irreverently modern art installation…the glow is just a bonus. They have a shock and awe effect that’s unlike anything else. Done poorly, and neon lights can look gaudy and very dated. There’s a fine line, friends.
I can’t think of a more ironically perfect placement of a neon light than above a bar cart. Seriously. It just works. For obvious reasons. I love how the light looks against the brick in Alisa Ritcher’s NYC apartment.
